Family Sponsorship

Spousal Sponsorship – Begin a New Chapter Together
Love knows no borders. Whether your partner is overseas or already in Canada, the Spousal Sponsorship program allows Married and Common-Law Partners to reunite and start a new life together.
Eligibility for Sponsors:
-
Must be at least 18 years old.
-
Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
-
Canadian Citizens living abroad must show intent to return to Canada once their spouse/partner becomes a Permanent Resident.
-
Permanent Residents must reside in Canada at the time of application.
-
Sponsors must show they can financially support their partner, though in most spousal cases there is no strict minimum income requirement.

Parent & Grandparent Sponsorship – Honouring Our Roots
Parents and Grandparents play an essential role in family life. The Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship program (PGP) allows Canadians and Permanent Residents to bring their Parents or Grandparents to Canada as Permanent Residents, ensuring families remain connected across generations.
Eligibility for Sponsors:
-
Must be at least 18 years old.
-
Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
-
Must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) requirement for the past three consecutive years, based on family size.
-
Must sign an undertaking agreement to provide financial support for up to 20 years (depending on province), ensuring sponsored relatives do not require social assistance.

Child Sponsorship – A Promise of a Brighter Future
Children are the heart of every family. The Child Sponsorship program ensures children can join their parents in Canada and benefit from safety, education, and opportunity.
Eligibility for Sponsored Children:
-
Must be under 22 years old and unmarried/not in a common-law relationship.
-
Children 22 or older may still qualify if they have been financially dependent on parents since before age 22 and are full-time students, or if they have a physical/mental condition that makes them dependent.
-
Must be a biological or legally adopted child of the sponsor.
